Fundraising And ‘Connected Spenders’

The Agitator

Do you need to know the latest consumer spending behavior in Indonesia, Pakistan and Nigeria? Probably not a lot of those addresses on your donor list … nor on any mailing list! But as it happens, by 2025 these three countries will be among the top ten countries on the planet that are home to ‘connected consumers’, joining the more expected likes of the US, Germany and Japan, the only ‘mature’ economies that will remain in the top ten.

Massive geographical and cultural differences in online sharing

Public Sector Marketing 2.0

Citizens of Saudi Arabia, India and Indonesia are the most prolific online sharers of content coming in at 61%, 53% and 50% respectively. I recently saw a fascinating presentation from KPCB entitled ”Internet Trends 2013 ” where I came across the above chart from Ipsos OTX. It basically illustrates current comfort levels with “online sharing” across numerous countries around the world (note: I modified the chart by also highlighting Canada in red). Context.

Some of the countries outside the US that were there included Canada, Columbia, Czech Republic, Spain, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Pakistan, Romania, Somalia, Turkey and Uganda. Global internet statistics for 2018

Public Sector Marketing 2.0

It now accounts for over half of all digital minutes in 13 markets, and over 75% in Mexico, India, and Indonesia. Here are a few general highlights I put together recently after going through various reports.

#SOCIALNETWORKS: How To Promote Facebook Posts & Why You Might Not Want To

Non Profit Marketing 360

Incidentally, I’ve also seen several posts on various forums recently (including our own) saying that geo-targeting options have disappeared for some users, and again, that promoted posts have been overwhelmed by users from Indonesia, so it seems I’m not alone in this. CecilyK on ‘MomCrunch’ blog says ‘No’ This past summer Facebook launched the opportunity to purchase ‘Promoted Posts’ that ? for at least a $5 fee ?

Cause Marketing on Packaging

The back explains that the vanilla for the ice cream is sourced at fair prices from small-scale farmers in Indonesia whose farming practices are more sustainable. Cause marketing with consumer packaged goods often takes place on packaging. While companies are sometimes loathe to forgo this valuable real estate, it’s almost always the case that the campaign sponsor and cause both benefit most when the packaging explains the campaign well.

Mobile Internet Access In Developing Countries

Social Marketing and Social Change

Indonesia, Egypt and Russia are the strongest growth markets for mobile internet browser maker Opera. Why “Trust” Matters in Fundraising. And What To Do About It.

The Agitator

Only 8 countries ( China, India, Indonesia, UAE, The Netherlands, Mexico, Malaysia and Singapore) fall into the category of “truster” nations. The 2018 Edelman Trust Barometer reveals that trust in the U.S. has suffered the largest-ever-recorded drop in the survey’s history among the general population. Even more troubling, trust among the informed public (that would be our donors) in the U.S.

Hong Kong, followed by France and Indonesia. Three weeks ago, we reported that Bernard Ross and his UK Management Centre were launching the Big Mac™ Philanthropy Index. The purpose of this new Index? To offer, once and for all, some basic comparative fundraising stats and to settle, hopefully, frequently asked questions like: “What country is the most generous?” … ”Who is the highest paid fundraiser on the planet?” ” …”What’s the largest capital campaign on Earth?”.
