The annual M+R Benchmarks Report has arrived again, shining a light on trends that are shaping nonprofits’ digital programs. Having shared and discussed this year’s Benchmarks Report with many of our partners, here’s twelve key trends that have resonated strongly within the EveryAction community. There is a lot of learning and experimenting going on in digital fundraising, which is fueling new innovations in how to raise money across the whole spectrum of digital channels.

and prepare my organization for the consequences of said answer, I use benchmarks. For example, at my day job the benchmarks look like this: Say I need to sell $70,000 in single tickets to a show. The rest of the money comes in during the rest of the run, which is typically about three weeks long. How did we come up with those benchmarks?  Coming up with similar benchmarks for what you do could prove to be invaluable. "How's the show going?"

Heaps of useful benchmarking data here for online fundraisers. to $91.94); Median growth rate in online giving was 20%, with 79% of organizations raising more money in 2010 than 2009; and, Click-through rates on fundraising appeals was 1.76%, with response rates at 0.16%. In any event, Convio has done online fundraisers a terrific service with this 2010 benchmark report (as well as online advocacy and communications managers … there’s plenty of data for you too).
