Fundraisers Divided On 2009

The Agitator

The verdict is in from Agitator readers … 2009 fundraising for the first half of 2009 is, well, so-so! Here’s the topline of how you are viewing 2009 to date: 1. Has your program performed better or worse in the first half of 2009 compared to the last half of 2008? How have nonprofits adjusted to the fundraising environment in the course of 2009?

Fundraisers Adjust 2009 Strategies

The Agitator

For fundraisers whose programs are performing worse than they expected at the outset of 2009, three reasons seem to dominate: For direct response fundraisers, average gifts remain down (although, for most, numbers of donors seem stable); Foundation and corporate giving is down, as well as grants from state governments; and, Events seem problematic. No question … fundraisers will earn their keep in 2009!

Fundraising resolutions for 2009

Donor Power Blog

Two recommendations for you to make this year a better your for your nonprofit organization: Evangelize fundraising. You already get it. But I can almost guarantee there are people in your organization who think of fundraising as a dirty job, a necessary evil, an embarrassing add-on to the real work. That attitude does more to hobble the work of nonprofits than anything but pure incompetence.
