I just saw Amy Sample Ward a few days ago, lucky me, on her way from SXSW to London, and she handed me this wonderful book that she is a co-author of, called Social by Social . So this morning I got up early, plunked down on the couch with a cup of tea and started reading Social by Social, a giant orange book. It was written in wiki format, so there are lots of ways you can go through the book.

When watching big sporting events, like the Super Bowl or the Olympics, it's common to see a network promote shows that are coming months down the road. Groups like Apple often start talking about products years before they actually hit the market. Why do this?
A few days ago we published a post called the Secret Millionaire in Your File … all about an "average" donor who — out of the blue — left a seven-figure bequest to her alma mater. I stress "average" because this was an individual of no obvious wealth, BUT someone who turned out to have a small gift giving history that could have provided clues.
In a process that began more than 15 months ago , the US national health objectives are beginning to take final form. Yesterday, the Federal Interagency Workgroup (FIW) approved 13 objectives for the Health Communication and Health Information Technology area. Of particular note for this forum is that social marketing has been included in the list to be forwarded to the Department of Health and Human Services for final clearance and approval this Fall.

The Foursquare Checkin for Charity campaign at SXSW 2010 I first reported on last week was a big success for the Save the Children Haiti Relief Fund . By the end of SXSWi , attendees had logged over 135,000 checkins on Foursquare. The effort was  supported by over 2,400 tweets that included the #sxswHaiti hashtag.
