I can’t tell you how many times in the last year I’ve heard someone explaining to a newbie how to use an RSS reader for online/social media listening, only to quickly follow it with, “But I don’t really use mine anymore, because I subscribed to too many feeds and am overwhelmed.&# Definitely one to watch.

So this morning I got up early, plunked down on the couch with a cup of tea and started reading Social by Social, a giant orange book. How to create a blog strategy.

I'm finishing up Inbound Marketing | Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs by the fabulous folks at HubSpot. Thanks to Dissident , a delightful blog discovery, I've also discovered the Common Craft Show and two video presentations -- the best I've ever seen for newbies on using RSS and Wikis. Just to remind you, I’m looking especially at online fundraising appeals, use of online video, and use of social media. Warming my heart, the appeal is delivered by an inspiring video. To say nothing of the fact that you might have just watched their stirring video call-to-action on global warming ! Terrible fundraising.

Today’s Presidential Inauguration Ceremony was not only attended in person by over 2 Million people (the most to date), but also set unprecedented records for LIVE video streaming viewership and online discussion (just track hashtag #inaug09 on Twitter ). politics as in the last 4 years; Clearly I’m not alone. Obama.
