Since meeting Jason, we've stayed in touch through Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Imagine my excitement when he sent out a twitter message about creating a Facebook communications plan... Not only is NCFR using Facebook, they are committed enough to create a whole communications plan around it! So I've asked Jason to report on the NCFR's progress on Facebook. Q: So, Jason...did Have you filled out the Social Tech Survey for associations yet? Even if you haven't taken on any social media initiatives yet, but plan to start something in the next 6 months or

It's not a revelation that social media occurs in the digital conversations of the Internet. However, some find it strange that conversations with people who might be more of an acquaintance than one we might call a "friend" often lead to important ideas. The session about Facebook with the Chamber members opened an interesting conversation when a women (let's call her Mary) shared her Facebook story. It seemed one of her employees (let's call her Ann) posted to her Facebook wall that she was "bored" with her job. Mary's son was a Facebook Friend (of Ann's) and told his mom. Social media marketing is not Only about marketing. Social media influences the way we interact with customers and with the people within our organizations.
