I took some advice from Rich Brooks at Flyte several months back and focused my efforts on three social media sites: Facebook , Linkedin and Twitter. I’m active on all three now, but the one I got on to last is the one I’m spending the most time on these days: Twitter. My best advice for Twitter is try to be useful.

So it was with a big "here we go again" sigh that I signed up for a Twitter account about 6 months ago. first heard about Twitter probably over a year ago-as is with most things Web, I can't pinpoint exactly where I heard about it, but my first reaction was: "Why would I want everyone to know what I am doing at any given moment?

There has been a lot of discussion this year about the potential value of microblogging service Twitter to nonprofits , so I’d imagine there will also be a lot of interest in the latest version of the Twitter-based virtual currency – the Twollar. My condolences if you've spent any of your life in a meeting that was about whether your organization should have a Twitter account. have yet to see a nonprofit use Twitter in a way that's even close to justifying the small amount of time they're putting into it. Our consulting organization CEPSM has a Twitter account ( @cepsm ); and so do nearly all of the consultants that work here. That being said, we all primarily use our individual Twitter accounts (e.g. I’m having a challenge.
