The Best from the Nonprofit Marketing Community

My big three channels are now Twitter , LinkedIn and my Blog . Google Android for one), that’s not the point, the tools will change, however the concept of community-powered niche applications is here to stay. The concept of applications designed and developed by niche communities for niche communities at micro-costs (99 cents on average) is too profound for any of us to fully comprehend at the moment. I recently switched smartphones (now representing 50% of the worldwide cell phone market ) from RIM ’s Blackberry Storm to Apple’s iPhone 3GS .
Three of the most common SM tools that I will focus on here are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. In the second, I’ll provide an additional Twitter case study, talk about LinkedIn, and then summarize with our recommendations on how best to take advantage of these tools to meet your goals. And fan pages can be a very effective way for organizations and businesses to create an online community where they can keep users, donors, and constituents up to date on the happenings of the group. Since meeting Jason, we've stayed in touch through Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. It's partly an outpost to our blogging and community activities. A: We use Sharepoint for both our internal and external communities, including three blogs. Have you filled out the Social Tech Survey for associations yet? Even if you haven't taken on any social media initiatives yet, but plan to start something in the next 6 months or so, you should fill out the survey.
By this I mean local, community-based nonprofits serving a local community – rather than the big national nonprofits. The survey was done because so many community nonprofits are grappling with the opportunities that may present themselves using social media marketing tools to attract members, communicate with groups, network with peers, and enhance search engine rankings. About 20 percent said Myspace is not useful, and the rest found it I just completed a survey on Social Media Marketing ( Facebook , MySpace , Blogging, etc) of 150 of the nation’s nonprofits that fall into what I call “Main Street Nonprofits.”
