The Transformers beauty hopped behind the bar at Sonny McLean's Irish Pub in Santa Monica, California, on October 2 to benefit the charity Team Stacie. It was a memorable night for all with celebrity appearances serving up drinks behind the bar and an impromptu performance of “SLIDE” by John Rzeznik and Mike Malinin of the “GOO GOO DOLLS”." The organization that does not have legal charity (or tax exempt) status, yet; writes a grant proposal and shares the proposal with the fiscal sponsor (organization that currently has its 501(c)(3) status). When a grant is received, the sponsor receives the money as "income" and passes it on as a "grant" to the non charity entity, per your agreement. Care 2.com is an activist organizing, California based, non profit that provides subscribers the opportunity to sign Internet petitions or e-mail representatives about current issues that concerns its members. Care 2.com, within the last day or two, sent an e-mail to its (free) members describing a new fundraising program called the Home Cash for Charity Program. to They work on causes such as women's community, animal welfare, health, environment, consumer safety, child protection and more. It's just like the California Gold Rush or the Frazier River Valley Gold Rush. Look at the giving history of the foundations still on the list (check their most recent IRS Form 990 - it is public information - check the resources at the end of this blog entry ) which lists what charities it gave donations to, in what amounts, when, and usually it lists what kinds of projects they gave their grants to. The search for possible grant donors for your organization is called "prospecting" in the grant writing jargon lexicon. Prospecting is a critical part of successfully making relationships
