So I had to do what most bloggers understandably never take the time to do -- take a walk down the blog's memory lane. In getting ready to move into smArts & Culture's new digs (woo-hoo!), was cringing at the thought of looking at posts that go back nearly five years. There's always embarrassing stuff at the beginning of any effort.

Here’s how you pitch a blogger: 1. You write a short, pithy summary of your idea in bullets that can be cut and pasted into a blog if the blogger likes it. Even a bulleted list is nice for a blogger. I get asked to cover different initiatives all the time here on the blog. Most of the pitches stink. They did a good job.
Blogger outreach isn't a bad idea. And blogs are more personal than MSM (mainstream media) so unless you're pitching the Huffington Post you must approach blogger outreach in a personal way.
