recommend that your nonprofit consider developing stronger relationships with its donors who give or could give in large amounts. Developing these particular contributors into regular contributors who give more each year, is called a major donor campaign, so those who do or could give in larger amounts are called major donors.

Grants are given because your mission statement is fulfilling a specific need in your community that the grant donor believes is important. Time, money, research, planning, team work, writing, etc. For further information read my post, " Why Do Donors Give Grants At All ?" Today's grant donors are savvy. are needed.

In order to raise single large amount donations at one time you will need to develop relationships with the potential major donors who already do, or would buy into your organization. In order to do this, it is helpful to know what inspires wealthy donors to give in large amounts. won't or don't fund operating or overhead costs.

When you have something that you're trying to raise grant donations for - it can be difficult to know how many different grant donors you should ask for a grant from. Will one foundation donate half of the total amount needed if another donor will match their donation? Will the third potential grant donor decline your grant proposal?

How are all of the donors (local individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and others) supposed to feel who have given to the festival? That is probably exactly what their donors are thinking. This is not how to keep donors. But admit it and research, network, and hire an excellent professional fundraiser.
