Time, money, research, planning, team work, writing, etc. They research which non profit organizations are mission driven, healthy organizations, successful at their mission statement's goal, and good to work with. Otherwise research who are the grant donors interested in your cause. I'm going to stretch this to twenty.) Really.

The Digital Youth Project , funded by the MacArthur Foundation, released their results yesterday. SO if you want a quick review of what is going on with this research, the bottomline is: most of the popular ideas adults have (oh, and the media that promote them) about teen use of the internet are wrong. That person works for a foundation (or the government, a corporation, etc.) Now, if they do not fund your proposal this time; you should ask them how you could step up the likelihood to receive a grant for the next time you apply; and then apply again (and when you can apply next is stated, usually, in the foundation's giving guidelines).

From The Foundation Center. During the fiscal year ending April 30, 2007, the foundation funded eight grants totaling $127,544 in areas such as feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, feline renal disease, infectious diseases, mammary cancer, feline genetics, and drug treatments. Studies applicable to all cats are encouraged.
