When I first launched the CEPSM social media marketing workshop in April, 2008, I really had no idea that it would garner such a positive response. Further still, we will be using a live Google Doc to fill out certain sections of the workbook collaboratively.I In fact, we quickly stopped going through the logistical hassle of organizing public workshops since there was more than enough demand for private ones (organizations inviting me in). CEPSM was never meant to be solely in the workshop business, but this way all logistical items were taken care of by the client.

An item in today's Google alert for 'social marketing' was actually about social marketing. There may be some history to explain it that I came across when looking for more information about Project 'N' - which I did not find btw. Michael Marmot wrote in Evidence based policy or policy based evidence in the 17 April 2004 issue of BMJ : Two reports were published in England in March [2004]: one by the Academy The Medical News Today headline:  £100 Million Social Marketing Campaign To Encourage Responsible Responsible

Coincidentally, or not, The Wall Street Journal [subscription needed for access to entire article online] today tells the story of a new type of collaboration between P&G (the iconoclastic consumer marketing organization) and Google, one that involves an employee exchange program. About 2 dozen employees are sitting in on the other’s training and strategy meetings, learning the culture in ways that will (hopefully for Google) lead P&G to invest more ad dollars in online media where they are well behind the curve among major brands spending an estimated 2% of their marketing budget
