There’s certainly a place for some of your own news on your Facebook page, but this medium is about conversation and community. Having 4,000 followers and no comments or posts from anyone else isn’t a genuine community or a successful Facebook page. flickr/minxlj. I’m also a little worried. That’s a bad sign.

I’ll share my three predictions for nonprofit marketing in 2010 with you in just a second, but here’s one prediction that I know for a fact will come true: I’ll keep referring you to Beth Kanter for all questions social media that are too difficult for me to answer. She will continue to reign supreme in 2010 and beyond.

use a custom Alltop page to track the top 40 or so blogs I want to follow instead. The big problem with that approach, however, is that I can’t follow the newer blogs  or those with smaller readerships that haven’t received blessed Alltop inclusion status yet. Not exactly the greatest endorsement for RSS readers.
I am participating today in an annual tradition called the Nonprofit Blog Exchange , an event where nonprofit and philanthropy bloggers write about another blog. Marc is a reputable expert and thought leader in the fundraising community. The Fundraising Coach is a great blog, easy to read with insightful tips.
I blogged this practical but fresh perspective from Andrew Sullivan's keynote talk at NTC ( NTEN 's annual conference). Sullivan, top blogger at The Atlantic 's Daily Dish , shared his take on the potential value of blogging (and other online channels) for orgs and what it takes to realize that value to strengthen relationships.

It’s hard to believe that this month marks my 5th anniversary blogging. This year blogging took a back seat to Facebook , Twitter and Linkedin. On Twitter I finally found a community that talked back to me and followed my tweets back to my blog where the conversation continued. Twitter is the best of the bunch.
